TOASTING THE BOLD is a nationwide event to raise awareness and funds for our U.S. Air Force Rescue Heroes and their families. We would like to offer you the opportunity to join us in honoring and supporting these men and women, who regularly have given so much to ensure our very freedom, by joining us as a sponsor. Some of these heroes have given everything and have made the ultimate sacrifice for their countryYour participation in TOASTING THE BOLD will directly impact the lives of U.S. Airforce service personnel, veterans, and their families, and will help the That Others May Live Foundation continue their critical mission.

That Others May Live Foundation provides immediate tragedy assistance funds and critical support for families of U.S. Air Force Rescue Heroes who are killed or severely wounded in operational or training missions. Your donation allows us to provide scholarships, both for now, and for the future. In addition, That Others May Live Foundation provides advocacy, guidance and resources to Air Rescue Members and veteran warriors affected by visible and invisible wounds.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

LT COL (RET) JEFF "SPANKY" PETERSON

Lt Col (Ret) Peterson’s career spanned 25 years as a HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter pilot. His Air Force career included both Active Duty and Full-Time Reserve assignments. He had numerous deployments overseas and deployed to Afghanistan 3 times, 2005, 2007 and again in 2008.

On July 2, 2005, Lt Col Peterson, while assigned to the 305th Rescue Squadron out of Tucson, was part of the dramatic Afghanistan rescue mission for troubled Operation Red Wings made famous by the book and Mark Wahlberg in the movie “Lone Survivor” (2013). The deployed 305th Rescue Squadron was tasked to extract US Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, who survived a four-man firefight against close to 100 Taliban.

As the pilot who flew out Luttrell, Lt Col Peterson will share his part of the story and events leading up to that harrowing nighttime rescue, while highlighting the degree of risk taken by our USAF Combat Rescue heroes on a day-to-day basis.
